Zeenat Mahal, Delhi
Zeenat mehal is the palace made by bahadur shah zafar in memory of her loving wife zeenat. She was the last mughal queen and ws very favourite to emperor bhadur shah. Zeenat Mahal is located at west of Hauz-Qazi in Lal Kuan Bazaar in badarpur area of Old Delhi. It was built in 1846.Now this palace is just seems to be in ruins and has been occupied by mundane shops and grinder factory. Earlier this palace was fully equipped with all luxuries and comforts also it was decorated with murals and other luxurious items. Zeenat mahal almost covers four acres of land in mansion.
Zeenat mahal was built on a very large scale with the money that was mainly provided by the rich merchants of Chandni Chowk. Attended by the rows of servants in the palace, she would receive a grand welcome in emperor's chamber. Beating of drums and playing of other musical instruments would mark the arrival of her palanquin lined with numbers of bodyguards. However, today it would be very difficult to imagine the brilliance and grandeur of the building seeing its present distorted condition. Zeenat mahal might have lost its significance in present time but it will be always part of of prestigious monuments which are evidence of Indian glorious history which still attracts a big number of tourist.
